Basketball Game Preview: Leesburg Yellow Jackets vs. Bishop Moore Hornets

The Leesburg Yellow Jackets will take on the Bishop Moore Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Leesburg came up short against Boca Ciega and fell 73-64.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Angelo Moton, who went 8-for-17 en route to 22 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javion Jenkins, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bishop Moore lost a heartbreaker to Lake Brantley when they met back in February of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. The game between the Hornets and the Patriots didn't end well, with the Hornets falling 59-43. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Bishop Moore now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Leesburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Leesburg strolled past Bishop Moore in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 by a score of 68-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
