Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mountain View and Basha squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Mountain View had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Bears. The Toros were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

While Mountain View ultimately came up short, they really made Basha work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-19, 25-17.

Basha's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaylie Lynar led the charge by getting 13 assists and nine digs. That's the most digs Lynar has posted over her last seven contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Isla Little, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Mountain View has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-13 record this season. As for Basha, their win bumped their record up to 20-14.

Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Basha, they will take on Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
