Basketball Game Preview: Huffman Vikings vs. Thompson Warriors

The Huffman Vikings will challenge the Thompson Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Huffman will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Huffman is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Fairfield, who was ranked tenth at the time (Huffman was ranked fifth). Huffman strolled past Fairfield with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 67-53.

Meanwhile, Thompson ended up a good deal behind Hoover on Thursday and lost 67-48. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Huffman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. As for Thompson, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

Huffman was able to grind out a solid victory over Thompson in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 62-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Huffman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
