Softball Recap: Knightstown Comes Up Short

Knightstown made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tri, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers fell just short of the Titans by a score of 9-7 on Saturday. The Panthers have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Lyla Trigg made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Paysen Hauk was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Knightstown's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Tri, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

Looking ahead, Knightstown will take on Winchester Community at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Tri, they have already played their next game, an 18-0 loss against Shenandoah on the 10th.
