Volleyball Game Preview: Sonoraville Phoenix vs. Northwest Whitfield Bruins

The Sonoraville Phoenix will head out to take on the Northwest Whitfield Bruins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Whitfield took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sonoraville, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Sonoraville was able to grind out a solid victory over Pickens, taking the game 2-0.

While Sonoraville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Northwest Whitfield didn't have quite enough to beat Coahulla Creek on Thursday and fell 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Northwest Whitfield sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 18-25, 15-13.

The win got Sonoraville back to even at 1-1. As for Northwest Whitfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Sonoraville skirted past Northwest Whitfield 2-1 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Will the Phoenix repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
