Baseball Recap: Mountain Pine Has No Trouble Against Jessieville

Mountain Pine hadn't done well against Jessieville recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Mountain Pine Red Devils were the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over the Jessieville Lions. This was payback for the Red Devils, who suffered a 13-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cale Slaten was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joey Eads, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jakob Walpole, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
