Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant vs. Del Mar

Mt. Pleasant is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Del Mar a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Mt. Pleasant Cardinals will be playing at home against the Del Mar Dons at 4:30 p.m.

Mt. Pleasant managed to keep up with Prospect until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cardinals came up short against the Panthers, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Mt. Pleasant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 793rd, while Prospect are ranked 173rd).

Meanwhile, Lincoln kept up with Del Mar until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Dons blew past the Lions 4-1. Considering Del Mar's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Del Mar, their win bumped their record up to 8-4-2.
