Volleyball Recap: Maine South Beats Evanston for Their Third Straight Victory

Maine South had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Evanston Wildkits. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in April.

Maine South got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 31-33, 25-15.

Leo Trespeces-Winck paced Maine South's offense, picking up 12 kills. Trespeces-Winck got some help from Gabriel Redzic and his 37 assists. Redzic was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Maine South's win bumped their record up to 24-11. As for Evanston, they now have a losing record of 17-18.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Maine South will be playing at home against MCC at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Evanston, they will host St. Patrick at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The Wildkits are facing the Shamrocks at the right time seeing as the Shamrocks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
