Football Game Preview: Weeping Water Indians vs. Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans

The Weeping Water Indians will venture away from home to take on the Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weeping Water has given up an average of 27.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Weeping Water is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 36 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Lourdes Central Catholic on Friday. They were dealt a 55-6 loss at the hands of the Knights. The Indians have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, as they earned their first away win of the season. They managed a 50-44 victory over Cedar Bluffs on Friday. The Titans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Alex Dewberry and Kameon Dettmann. Dewberry gained 188 total yards and four touchdowns while Dettmann rushed for 94 yards and a pair of scores. Those 94 rushing yards gave Dettmann a new career-high.

Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Weeping Water's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Weeping Water against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-11 victory. In that game, the Indians amassed a halftime lead of 40-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
