Basketball Game Preview: River Oaks Mustangs vs. Sylva Bay Academy Saints

The River Oaks Mustangs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Sylva Bay Academy Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in River Oaks' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

River Oaks heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lamar Christian.

Meanwhile, Sylva Bay Academy suffered their closest defeat since January 14th on Friday. They fell just short of Hillcrest Christian by a score of 44-41.

River Oaks will need to focus on slowing down Brody Boyd, one of several Sylva Bay Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 of 17 to rack up 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Rogers, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points.

Sylva Bay Academy's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for River Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-2.

River Oaks came up short against Sylva Bay Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 46-36. Can River Oaks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
