Soccer Game Preview: South Hills vs. Alta Loma

The South Hills Huskies will head out to challenge the Alta Loma Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. South Hills' last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

South Hills is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against San Dimas on Wednesday. South Hills fell just short of San Dimas by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Alta Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Colony. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 729th, while the Titans are ranked 124th).

Alta Loma's loss dropped their record down to 1-11-4. As for South Hills, they dropped their record down to 6-4-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

South Hills skirted past Alta Loma 4-3 in their previous matchup last Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Hills since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
