Basketball Recap: Gaige Goodman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bowie over Iowa Park

Bowie has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Iowa Park Hawks on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-39 back in January.

Bowie lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gaige Goodman, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Boston Farris, who scored six points and five boards.

Bowie's defeat dropped their record down to 21-11. As for Iowa Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season.

Coming up, Bowie will face off against Jacksboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Iowa Park, they will venture away from home to face off against Comanche at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
