Baseball Recap: Pymatuning Valley Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Pymatuning Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Lordstown Red Devils 16-5 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Sean Croston, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Landon Paul was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pymatuning Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive matchups.

Pymatuning Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Lordstown, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
