Basketball Recap: Logan Lunt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East over Alta

While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, East was not quite Alta's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell 59-51 to the Alta Hawks. The Leopards haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

East lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Logan Lunt, who went 6 for 9 to rack up 19 points in addition to six boards and four steals. That's the most points Lunt has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Rimando, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points and three steals.

It was another big night for Dash Reiser, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 18 points along with seven assists and six rebounds for Alta. Reiser has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Boston Gray, who put up ten points and four steals.

East's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Alta, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Skyline the next time they take the court. Alta will host Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while East will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
