Softball Recap: Pinnacle Has No Trouble Against Higley

Pinnacle's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 24-5 margin over the Higley Knights. Considering the Pioneers have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Paige Kroening made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Payton Crank was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Sienna Caro was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Pinnacle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Pinnacle now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Higley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-1 record this season.

Pinnacle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-10 victory against O'Connor on the 1st. As for Higley, they have also already played their next match, a 6-4 defeat against Desert Ridge on the 1st.
