Basketball Game Preview: Coloma Comets vs. Lawton Blue Devils

The Coloma Comets will head out on the road to take on the Lawton Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coloma will be strutting in after a win while Lawton will be coming in after a loss.

Coloma is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 79-69 victory over Watervliet on Friday. While the Comets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Lawton was beaten by Parchment 65-32 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Coloma's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Lawton, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-3.

Coloma took their victory against Lawton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 68-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coloma since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
