The Mercyhurst Prep Lakers are taking a road trip to challenge the Eisenhower Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mercyhurst Prep has three straight wins, Eisenhower has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Mercyhurst Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Youngsville 31-1 on Tuesday. Considering the Lakers have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brady Rice and Brady Coleman made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Rice tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Coleman tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rice has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Rice went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI, while Coleman got on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two hits gave Rice a new career-high.

In other batting news, Josh Majczyk was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Jack Stoker was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Mercyhurst Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Eisenhower's offense. They came up short against Kane on Friday, falling 11-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.
Mercyhurst Prep's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Eisenhower's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mercyhurst Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .513. It's a different story for Eisenhower, though, as they've only averaged .341. Will they be able to contain Mercyhurst Prep's hitters?
Everything went Mercyhurst Prep's way against Eisenhower in their previous meeting back in April, as Mercyhurst Prep made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lakers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
