Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Red Devils vs. Westside Seminoles

Jackson and Westside are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Jackson Red Devils will face off against the Westside Seminoles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Jackson is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since November 22, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Hampton by a score of 39-37.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westside). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Rutland 70-37. The Seminoles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Westside's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Jackson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Jackson suffered a grim 50-30 defeat to Westside when the teams last played back in January. Can Jackson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
