Volleyball Recap: Richmond Comes Up Short

Richmond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vallejo Redhawks. Oilers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Redhawks since on Friday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Richmond sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 0-25, 25-0, 0-25, 15-0.

Richmond's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Vallejo, their win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-12.

Coming up, Richmond will venture away from home to challenge Kennedy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Vallejo, they will host Swett at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
