Mapletown has gone 9-1 against Turkeyfoot Valley Area recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Saturday. The Maples are taking a road trip to  take on the Rams  at 1:00  p.m. Mapletown hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the  team is eager to reverse.
Mapletown fell victim to Jefferson-Morgan and their airtight pitching crew  on Thursday. They lost  17-0 to the Rockets.
Turkeyfoot Valley Area not only won  on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 27, 2024 (when they won  16-0). They blew past Clay-Battelle 12-3. The  win was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Rhylan Rugg made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out 13 batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 4-for-5 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base. She also put up a  double, which was her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Maleigha Younkin was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs, two  doubles,  and one  triple. She continues to improve, besting her previous  run total in each of the last three games she's  played.  Ellie King was another key player,  going 3-for-5 with four  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Turkeyfoot Valley Area was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .500. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in April of 2024.
 Mapletown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they picked up their first road  victory, bumping their record up to 2-5.
 Everything went Mapletown's way against Turkeyfoot Valley Area when the teams last played  back in March, as Mapletown made off with  an  11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maples since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
