Volleyball Recap: Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains vs. Old Fort Stockaders
Hopewell-Loudon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Old Fort Stockaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chieftains of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
The final score came out to 25-20, 25-15, 20-25, 25-9.

Despite the loss, Hopewell-Loudon still got an impressive performance from Maddie Holcomb, who had 43 digs and three assists. Holcomb has been hot, having posted 15 or more digs the last six times she's played.
Leading Old Fort to victory were Lucy King and Carly Fortney. King had nine digs and three aces, while Fortney had 12 digs and one assist. That's the most aces King has posted since back in September of 2024.
Hopewell-Loudon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Old Fort, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Looking ahead, Hopewell-Loudon will head out to challenge Liberty-Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Old Fort, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Van Buren on the 23rd.
