Football Recap: Jay Skates Past Elberta with Ease

Everything came up roses for the Jay Royals against the Elberta Warriors on Friday as the team secured a 56-8 victory. With the Royals ahead 48-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Jaymes Youngblood put on a one-man show, rushing for 121 yards and a pair of TDs on only 7 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 85 yards. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Youngblood, who threw for 90 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Jay was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 424 yards. That's the best they've done in that category all season.

Jay has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins were made possible by their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14.0 points this season. As for Elberta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Jay and Elberta will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Royals are set to face off against their familiar foe Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Elberta will challenge their in-conference opponent Spanish Fort at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
