Basketball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

Lakeside suffered their biggest loss since January 31st on Thursday. They were dealt a 98-47 defeat at the hands of the Woodward Academy War Eagles. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the War Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Woodward Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Donovan Johnson, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the most boards Johnson has posted since back in December of 2024. Bradyn Elder was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 16 points.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Woodward Academy, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lakeside will face off against Gulf Breeze at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodward Academy, they will take on Holy Innocents Episcopal at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday.
