Southampton proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 22) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Windsor Dukes 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 back in March.

Zoe Banks looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kaylee Hill was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Paisley Benson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Southampton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Windsor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Southampton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 19-0 win against Brunswick on the 7th. As for Windsor, they will head out on the road to take on Sussex Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
