Volleyball Recap: New Bern's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

If Jacksonville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played New Bern, they should've done a better job of containing Allie Tuzo. The Bears walked away with a 3-1 win over the Cardinals on Thursday with plenty of help from Tuzo, who had 21 digs and three assists. Those assists were her first of the season.

While New Bern might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Jacksonville scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-20, 25-27, 25-21.

New Bern moved to 11-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Jacksonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. New Bern will challenge rival White Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jacksonville is set to take on their familiar foe J.H. Rose at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
