The Wellington Dukes will challenge the Clearview Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Wellington: 17.4, Clearview: 4.8) so any points scored will be well earned.

Last Friday, Wellington didn't have quite enough to beat Brookside and fell 14-12. The Dukes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Defeat or not, Wellington got some senior leadership from Johnnie Kinter and Landon Wright. Kinter picked up 157 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Wright threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. With that strong performance, Kinter is now averaging an impressive 105.8 receiving yards per game. Wellington also got a significant boost from Connor Stevens, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.

Meanwhile, Clearview put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Oberlin on the road to the tune of 42-0. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Clippers this season.

Cy Christensen looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 235 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jg Hill, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Wellington now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Clearview, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Wellington was taken down by Clearview 48-12 in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wellington was down 41-6.
