Baseball Game Preview: Carroll Eagles vs. Headland Rams

For the second straight game, Carroll will face off against Headland. The Eagles will challenge the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carroll has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Carroll's offense. They came up short against Headland on Tuesday, falling 19-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Headland's part, Justin Parnell was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Parnell a new career-high.

Headland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll only posted an OBP of .111.

Headland is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16-1.
