Softball Recap: Perry Bluejays vs. Webster City Lynx

Perry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Webster City Lynx. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejays of the 7-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

Perry saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kalley Whelchel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Harper Peterson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Webster City, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Perry has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Woodward-Granger at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Webster City, they will square off against Van Meter at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
