Football Recap: Rowan County Comes Up Short

Rowan County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the East Carter Raiders and fell 42-7. The Vikings lost against the Raiders in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 30-19 score last time.

Rowan County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for East Carter, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rowan County will challenge Bath County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Carter, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Boyd County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
