Baseball Recap: North Myrtle Beach Triumphs

North Myrtle Beach barely beat South Florence the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The North Myrtle Beach Chiefs never let the South Florence Bruins get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won nine in a row.

Jake Frick looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Sawyer Smith was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. CJ Oxendine was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

North Myrtle Beach now has a winning record of 3-2. As for South Florence, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-2.

As for South Florence, they will welcome Lower Richland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Florence is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
