Baseball Game Preview: Lone Star Rangers vs. Highland Park Scots

The Lone Star Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Highland Park Scots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lone Star is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Lone Star came out on top against Newman Smith on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Rangers never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 10-0 win.

Will Moore looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lone Star's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eric Aguilar, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Aguilar has become a key player for the Rangers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-18 otherwise.

Lone Star kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Highland Park earned a 4-0 win over Creekview on Thursday. The Scots haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Highland Park pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Lone Star, their record is now 11-18.
