Baseball Recap: Mahnomen/Waubun Find Success

Mahnomen/Waubun won the last time they faced Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Thunderbirds walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Titans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunderbirds.

Zach Zima was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Mahnomen/Waubun: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Leeland Heisler, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Mahnomen/Waubun was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mahnomen/Waubun's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
