Basketball Recap: Elbert County Extends Winning Streak to Three

Elbert County won the last time they faced Commerce and things went their way on Friday too. The Elbert County Blue Devils enjoyed a cozy 42-25 win over the Commerce Tigers. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Tigers are ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the third in a row for Elbert County, bringing their record for this year to 23-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points over those games. As for Commerce, they dropped their record down to 6-19 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Elbert County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Commerce, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-28 loss against Oglethorpe County on the 8th.
