Veritas Christian Academy entered their tilt with Calvary Lutheran on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 47-44 win over the Calvary Lutheran Lions. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-5), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Veritas Christian Academy was led to victory by Lusajo Kasyupa and Jake Markham. Kasyupa posted 12 points and five rebounds, while Markham earned 14 points. Another player making a difference was Titus Murrell, who put up six points and five rebounds.

Veritas Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Calvary Lutheran, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Veritas Christian Academy Eagles take on the Silex Owls at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Veritas Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. As for Calvary Lutheran, they will venture away from home to square off against Chamois at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
