On Saturday, the Mt. Zion Braves beat the Peoria Notre Dame Irish 2-0.
While Mt. Zion won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 29-27, 25-19.
Mt. Zion can attribute much of their success to Madi Moore, who had 12 digs.
Mt. Zion's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Peoria Notre Dame, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.
Mt. Zion will head out to take on Taylorville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Peoria Notre Dame, they will take on Brimfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
