Volleyball Recap: Capistrano Valley Comes Up Short

Capistrano Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dana Hills Dolphins. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 28, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Capistrano Valley took Dana Hills into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 21-25, 19-25, 15-13.

Capistrano Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Dana Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-14 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Capistrano Valley will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on San Juan Hills at 5:45 p.m. on the 14th. As for Dana Hills, they will face off against Mission Viejo at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
