Volleyball Recap: Antelope Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, Antelope was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Mayer Wildcats by a score of 3-1. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Antelope found their leader in sophomore Mariana Bautista, who had 14 assists and six aces. Those 14 assists set a new season-high mark for Bautista. Anaya St.Clair also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Antelope's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Mayer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Antelope wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against San Pasqual Valley on the 21st. Hopefully Mayer paid attention to the Rams' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
