Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Valley Danes vs. Manitou Springs Mustangs

The Fountain Valley Danes will take on the Manitou Springs Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fountain Valley's defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so Manitou Springs' offense will have their work cut out for them.

Fountain Valley's usually-dominant defense will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Peyton offense got past them. The contest between Fountain Valley and Peyton didn't end well, with Fountain Valley falling 59-45. The loss was the Danes' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Manitou Springs played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 59-38 to St. Mary's. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered against the Pirates since March 6, 2021.

Fountain Valley will have to contain Cohen Barrett as he made an impact in Manitou Springs' last game. He posted ten points. Ashur Lavigne was another key player, putting up nine points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fountain Valley fell to 3-1. As for Manitou Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Fountain Valley was taken down by Manitou Springs 57-12 when the teams last played back in January of 2016. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Fountain Valley was down 30-4.
