Baseball Game Preview: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Knox Redskins

Jimtown has gone a perfect 4-0 against Knox recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Jimmies will square off against the Redskins at 12:30 p.m. Jimtown will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Jimtown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let LaVille get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Jimmies, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Dalton Cook's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Christman, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Broderic Kaler was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Knox got the win against Triton on Tuesday by a conclusive 7-0.

Knox is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Jimtown, their win bumped their record up to 20-7.

Jimtown was able to grind out a solid victory over Knox when the teams last played back in April, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jimmies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
