Basketball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Takes a Loss

Archbishop Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 64-24 loss at the hands of the Bishop O'Connell Knights. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 116th in District of Columbia, while the Knights are ranked 13th in Virginia).

Bishop O'Connell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amanda Bates, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Mia Morrill, who put up ten points.

Archbishop Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Bishop O'Connell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-10.

Archbishop Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop O'Connell, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Our Lady of Good Counsel at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
