Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kalida). They blew past the Continental Pirates 59-13 on Thursday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Pirates are ranked 736th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kalida's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addilyn Huber, who posted 11 points and four steals. Allie Kuhlman was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Kalida smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Kalida, bringing their record for this year to 11-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.4 points per game. As for Continental, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kalida will venture away from home to face off against Pandora-Gilboa at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Pandora-Gilboa will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Kalida surely won't give up without a fight. Continental has already played their next matchup (against Paulding), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
