Baseball Recap: Potomac Senior Takes a Loss

Potomac Senior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hylton Bulldogs. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Carmine Burkhart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He has become a key player for Potomac Senior: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Potomac Senior saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Farry, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Potomac Senior's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Hylton, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

As of now, neither Potomac Senior nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
