Basketball Recap: Independence's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Independence proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 42) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Marion-Franklin Red Devils, sneaking past 59-56. The win was nothing new for the 76ers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Independence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Oumar Sall, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Sall a new career-high. Torreon Gordon-Suggs was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Independence picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-16. As for Marion-Franklin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.

Independence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-49 loss against Walnut Ridge on the 31st. As for Marion-Franklin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-52 defeat against Briggs on the 31st.
