Baseball Recap: Abingdon/Avon Comes Up Short

Abingdon/Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bureau Valley Storm. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Storm this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 on Saturday.

Abingdon/Avon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Foutch, who went 1-for-5 with one stolen base and one run.

Abingdon/Avon's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Bureau Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Abingdon/Avon will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Brimfield at 4:30 p.m. As for Bureau Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Riverdale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
