Volleyball Recap: Canyon's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After flying high against Anaheim last Wednesday, Canyon came back down to earth. Canyon lost 3-0 to the Esperanza Aztecs on Thursday. The Comanches were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aztecs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Canyon moved to 11-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Esperanza, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Canyon and Esperanza should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Canyon will face off against Garden Grove at 5:30 p.m. on April 4 up 371 places (74 vs. 445). Meanwhile, Esperanza (ranked 151st) will meet Sonora (ranked 387th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
