Baseball Recap: Crooms Academy Panthers vs. Taylor Wildcats
Crooms Academy lost against Taylor back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crooms Academy Panthers suffered a tough 9-3 defeat at the hands of the Taylor Wildcats.
Leland Smith and Caden Bachand stepped up to the plate in a big way. Smith scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Bachand went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two RBI. Caden Nocentino was another key contributor, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
On Taylor's side, Roberto Mancilla was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Alfredo Segura, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Crooms Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Taylor, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Crooms Academy will play host again on Thursday to welcome Halifax Academy, where first pitch is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. As for Taylor, they are on the road again on Friday to play Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m.
