Soccer Game Preview: Platte County vs. Chrisman

The Platte County Pirates will square off against the Chrisman Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Platte County has 12 straight victories, Chrisman has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Platte County's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Truman 3-0. Platte County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Chrisman came up short against Van Horn on Wednesday, falling 10-3.

Platte County's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those seven games. As for Chrisman, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Everything went Platte County's way against Chrisman in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Platte County made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
