Volleyball Game Preview: Douglas County West Falcon vs. Auburn Bulldogs

The Douglas County West Falcon will face off against the Auburn Bulldogs at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Auburn will be up against a hot Douglas County West team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Falcon put the hurt on Louisville with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The Falcon not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 30th (when they won 3-0).

Douglas County West's got stronger as the match went on, holding Louisville to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-8.

If Plattsmouth wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Auburn, they should've done a better job of containing Graycen Jones. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Blue Devils on Tuesday for which the team can thank Jones, who had 13 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-13, 25-19.

Douglas County West better focus on containing Brynn Casey and Nora Jacobitz as the pair were huge in Auburn's win. Casey had nine digs, while Jacobitz had three digs.

Douglas County West's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Auburn, their win bumped their record up to 19-12.

Douglas County West came out on top in a nail-biter against Auburn in their previous meeting back in September, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Falcon have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
