Baseball Recap: Coahoma Takes a Loss

The Coahoma Bulldogs came up short against the Denver City Mustangs on Tuesday, falling 9-3. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bryce Davis and Jordan Gonzales stepped up to the plate in a big way. Davis scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Gonzales went 1-for-2 with one home run. What's more, Davis posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Oden, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Coahoma's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Denver City, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Coming up, Coahoma is taking a road trip to square off against Compass Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Compass Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Denver City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lamesa at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
