Baseball Recap: Laguna Hills Comes Up Short

Laguna Hills and Northwood squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Laguna Hills had to settle for second. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timberwolves. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Hawks, who until this game were averaging 3.34 runs allowed.

Nathan Ivey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Youngman, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Laguna Hills dropped their record down to 15-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Northwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-15-1.

Laguna Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwood, they will square off against Citrus Hill at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Timberwolves 4.1, the Hawks 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
